Bits, bobs, seats and fridges...

Been able to sort a few things out over the last couple of months but as always a few more problems have appeared. The old passenger seat was in a bit of a state and since I began driving it more regularly the drivers side had got a bit bad as well. They were just old car seats and I was fully intending to replace them with a similar from a scrap yard but then I saw some bucket seats on ebay and it got me thinking. What I ended up with was a par of Cobra Monaco Race seats, OK, so it has been pointed out that they're boy racer seats but they are comfy, in very good nick and only cost me £50.

One of the slight down sides to an 88" with a full roll cage is the ridiculously small amount of stuff you can actually get in the back. Plus the fact that you can't keep anything you can get in there dry. A Chequer plate cover was too expensive and i'd still have to cut it up to fit round the roll cage. The solution decided on was to set upon the hard top from my old series 3 with a grinder. After cutting it more or less in half and cutting slots down for the roll cage it fitted on the back quite nicely. With and extra cross member across the center and some rubber bonnet catches fixed to the inside it's strong enough the take the spare wheel and stand on and isn't going anywhere. All I need now is some sheet rubber to fill the gap between the hard top and canvas/cab top and to seal the slots for the roll cage (any suggestions on where I could get hold of some cheap rubber will be much appreciated).

Really... don't ask about the fridges....

As for the reoccurring and new problems here we go... the temperamental heater got more temperamental when it sprung a leak in a perfect stream onto Gemma who was sat on the passenger seat so i'm now heater less. The electrics some time work... sometimes don't! (read this for an idea of what I mean). The tappets need sorting out and the whole thing needs a service. There is also some very interesting rattling coming from the gearbox... I have replaced the filler pipe to the petrol tank so it's not all bad... er...
